Registration is closed for this event

What: CopWatch Training
When: Friday June 6th, 6-8pm
Where: Direct Action for Rights & Eqaulity (DARE), 340 Lockwood St Providence

Join PrYSM and SISTA Fire's CopWatch Training in support of the DTPOC 2Queer4Fear gathering this June!

Queer & trans people of color know we can't rely on police to keep us safe. The first Pride was not a march, but an uprising of against police violence. It's up to us to keep each other safe.

CopWatch is a community defense program developed by the Black Panther Party in the 80s & 90s, where community members monitor law enforcement's on duty and document interactions and abuses. CopWatch, along with ICE Watch, help us observe and deter police and immigration agents from hurting our neighbors.

At this training, we'll learn the foundations and history of CopWatch. Participants will then be eligible to join CopWatch teams that support community events, including the DTPOC  gathering on June 20th. We welcome all people of color to attend and support our CopWatch efforts!

Join us Friday June 6th from 6-8pm at DARE for our peolple of color CopWatch Training!
